The Girl

You can’t start the next chapter of your life if you continue re-reading the last one.

After spending five years in the City of Brotherly Love working hard to climb the Corporate Ladder, I woke up one day and suddenly realized that it wasn’t the kind of life I wanted to continue leading.  I wanted passion, adventures, and happiness and I wanted it to be on my own terms.

In March 2011, I traded the Corporate World in pursuit of authentic happiness.  I moved to Prague, Czech Republic to obtain a TEFL certification and figure out what the hell comes next in life.  Little did I know, it would soon lead me on an epic journey around the world.

What was supposed to be a four-day vacation in Australia turned out to be a place I would soon call home.  On my fourth day, I went skydiving in Wollongong, and as I gazed into the gorgeous scenery below me, I suddenly knew this was where I wanted to be.

I’ve been living in Sydney, Australia on a work and holiday visa since May 2011, working as a freelance writer and teaching English to International students.  It’s been an incredible experience so far and I’ve been lucky to have traveled to some beautiful places, like South Korea, the Netherlands, and the Philippines.

Australia will always be my second home, but I’m finally ready to move on and embrace my next destination: China.  As of September 2012, I’m moving to China to teach English and experience life in Asia.  I’m incredibly excited, anxious, and nervous about this next chapter but the experiences gained will outweigh the anxiety and fear that I’m currently feeling about this major life-change.

Find something that you’re passionate about, that moves and shakes you to your very core, and follow that passion to where ever it takes you.  It’s never too late to start living the life you want.
